Yes, Kids DO Need Vitamin D!

Did you know that 4 out of 5 adults are deficient in Vitamin D? In fact, if I could tell everyone to only take one supplement, it would be Vitamin D. It affects over 200 genes in the body and moves the needle on all aspects of your health above almost anything else I have seen in all my years of practice.

Over the past couple of years in particular, you have probably heard me, my fellow physicians and my team talk about this fat-soluble hormone and how you need to be supplementing with it daily.

Kids need it, too! Kids can also have vitamin D deficiencies, and many kids don’t eat foods that are high in Vitamin D, like eggs and oily fish like salmon. Very few foods are fortified with vitamin D; there are some cereals and some yogurts for example. Even infants can have a vitamin D deficiency as breast milk contains very little vitamin D.

The body requires sunlight exposure to make vitamin D. Darker skin requires more sunshine to create it, and kids who wear lots of sunscreen or clothing that blocks the sun may be at risk.

Kids need vitamin D for:
  • Strong bones and teeth
  • Healthy muscles
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Proper immune function
  • Overall well-being
Vitamin D should be taken with food or in a form that allows better absorption. Many kids have difficulty swallowing capsules, and my Opti Liquid Vitamin D3 is a great alternative. It provides 1,000 IU of vitamin D (in the preferred form of cholecalciferol) per drop. All it takes is one drop under the tongue or mixed in a beverage per day to keep your kids in tip-top shape.

If you’ve been thinking about supplements for your kids, Opti Liquid Vitamin D3. Your child will definitely reap the benefits of this amazing formula.

08-09-21 Deep Dive PREMIUM – with Jamie Walden

Meet Jamie Walden, of Omega Dynamics. Imbued with matchless passion for all things “adventurous” and “fun”, Jamie’s teen years were filled with significant tumult (injuries, arrests, and choices of near life-long consequence). However, amid the rebellion and ruckus, Jamie continually endeavored to one day earn the title, “U.S. Marine”. After being nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Defense, Intelligence, and Diplomacy in Washington, D.C., where he subsequently secured a nomination to the US Naval Academy, Jamie made the determination to simply enlist in the Marine Corps Infantry and achieve his childhood dream.

After leaving the Marines Corps, Jamie obtained a double major B.S. in Law Enforcement and History. Pursuing a career in Federal Law Enforcement, Jamie was selected as an Intern for the United States Marshals Service, and subsequent recruitment to a “Three Letter” agency. It was then, when Jamie received “the call”, that the Lord began testing and affirming the genuineness of his faith.

After again returning to Iraq in 2014 to serve the Christians suffering under the savage campaign of ISIS, Jamie and his wife Virginia were compelled to surrender their paradigm and follow the Lord into full-time ministry.

“The Mission of Omega Dynamics is this: to teach, train and equip “Those with ears to hear” to stand anew in their rightful place as more than conquerors in a kingdom that cannot be shaken…this generation is literally, eternally dying for us to”
