Few people understand how Washington’s inner workings quietly shape – and sometimes strangle – American innovation. My guest, Paul Steidler, Senior Fellow at the Lexington Institute, has spent years exposing how government inefficiency, bureaucratic overreach, and misguided regulation threaten the very engine that drives our nation’s prosperity: small business and entrepreneurship.
Steidler’s work is respected across political lines – and for good reason. As a policy expert whose research has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg, and The Washington Post, he cuts through the noise to reveal what’s really happening behind closed doors in the capital. His insights on technology, logistics, and the Federal Trade Commission shed light on how Washington’s policies impact everything from Big Tech innovation to the U.S. Postal Service’s hidden costs.
In this conversation, Paul and I confront some hard truths about the state of American enterprise – and how the next administration must act if we’re going to restore real opportunity and growth. He challenges the dangerous D.C. myth that government interference “protects” small business, when in fact it often does the opposite. Together, we dig into how today’s entrepreneurs can harness innovation – including artificial intelligence – without being crushed by federal red tape.
We also explore:
Why the future of small business lies in the intersection of free markets and smart technology.
How AI and Big Tech are fueling a new wave of entrepreneurial independence.
The hidden inefficiencies within federal systems like the U.S. Postal Service – and what reform could look like under a Trump administration.
The urgent need for transparency, accountability, and real competition in federal policy.
Paul Steidler’s work reminds us that bureaucracy doesn’t build America – visionaries, risk-takers, and innovators do. This is a must-hear discussion for anyone who believes in restoring economic freedom and reining in the machinery of inefficiency that too often stalls progress.
Join me for this bold, eye-opening conversation that cuts through Washington spin and exposes what’s really at stake for the future of American innovation and small business.
Meet Jamie Walden, of Omega Dynamics. Imbued with matchless passion for all things “adventurous” and “fun”, Jamie’s teen years were filled with significant tumult (injuries, arrests, and choices of near life-long consequence). However, amid the rebellion and ruckus, Jamie continually endeavored to one day earn the title, “U.S. Marine”. After being nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Defense, Intelligence, and Diplomacy in Washington, D.C., where he subsequently secured a nomination to the US Naval Academy, Jamie made the determination to simply enlist in the Marine Corps Infantry and achieve his childhood dream.
After leaving the Marines Corps, Jamie obtained a double major B.S. in Law Enforcement and History. Pursuing a career in Federal Law Enforcement, Jamie was selected as an Intern for the United States Marshals Service, and subsequent recruitment to a “Three Letter” agency. It was then, when Jamie received “the call”, that the Lord began testing and affirming the genuineness of his faith.
After again returning to Iraq in 2014 to serve the Christians suffering under the savage campaign of ISIS, Jamie and his wife Virginia were compelled to surrender their paradigm and follow the Lord into full-time ministry.
“The Mission of Omega Dynamics is this: to teach, train and equip “Those with ears to hear” to stand anew in their rightful place as more than conquerors in a kingdom that cannot be shaken…this generation is literally, eternally dying for us to”
