Most Americans believe they understand the Constitution. Sheriff Richard Mack says that’s exactly the problem. We’ve become so comfortable repeating words like democracy, rights, and freedom that many people no longer understand the system those words were meant to protect. That misunderstanding has consequences far beyond politics. It affects every election, every law, every community, and every generation that follows.  

Drawing from his book, The Democrat Murder of America, Sheriff Mack argues that America wasn’t designed to function as a pure democracy. It was established as a constitutional republic that limits government power and protects the rights of the individual, even when public opinion changes. As that distinction has faded, he believes the country has drifted further from the principles that made it exceptional.

Sheriff Richard Mack served more than two decades in law enforcement, including eight years as Sheriff of Graham County, Arizona. In 1997, he became the first sheriff in American history to successfully challenge the federal government before the United States Supreme Court, winning the landmark Printz v. United States decision that reaffirmed constitutional limits on federal authority and strengthened the principle of state and local sovereignty.

Today, Sheriff Mack is the founder and president of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), where he educates sheriffs, peace officers, elected officials, and citizens about the constitutional role of local government and the protection of individual liberty.

A graduate of the FBI National Academy and a member of the National Rifle Association Hall of Fame, Sheriff Mack has spent decades speaking across the country on constitutional government, states’ rights, and the responsibilities of both public officials and the citizens they serve.

He is the co-author of The Democrat Murder of America, a book that examines the historical evolution of America’s political divide and argues for a return to constitutional government, local accountability, and personal responsibility.
