The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Thursday confirmed the recall of tens of thousands of bottles of a medication prescribed to treat high cholesterol.
The FDA confirmed the voluntary manufacturer recall of thousands and thousands of bottles of pitavastatin, a common statin drug. The recall was done by the Taiwan-based manufacturer Orient Pharma, which manufactures the drug for US-based Teva Pharmaceuticals. FDA issued its least severe warning, a Class III recall, defined as “unlikely to cause serious adverse health consequences.”
Statins Are Bad News…Really Bad News
Actually, we don’t need a recall to show us that statins are bad news. For instance, pitavastatin is designed to interfere with the liver’s process of making cholesterol, so the liver makes less of low-density lipoprotein (LDL), known as “bad” cholesterol. But that’s not all it does – pitavastatin also increases the body’s high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol.
Dr. Leonard Coldwell is right: “It’s mass murder… It (taking statins) always cuts off at least 20 years of your lifespan. Your brain is made from cholesterol. A statin drug is a cholesterol-lowering drug. So if you want to have a brain the size of a marble, just keep on taking them.”
He goes on to say: “You do not die of too much cholesterol. There is no such thing as too much cholesterol. You die only from having not enough. I have patients that have cholesterol of 600. They’re the healthiest people. They’ve never been sick.”
The truth is that statin drugs are definitely a useless drug, and likely one of the most dangerous. Sadly, it is estimated that 250 million people worldwide are taking statins. In the US, more than 25% of adults over age 40 take statins – that’s 40 million people. And the global trend is showing a steady increase of statin use.
It’s a Racket
Statins are always the first-line recommended treatment for lowering cholesterol. Not surprisingly, Big Pharma has used lies and coercion to push statins down our throats.
Of course, Big Pharma instills fear, with the help of the all-too-willing and paid-to-spread-propaganda mainstream media ready to answer the call, calling the failure to use statins a “national tragedy.” They say things like, “Tens of thousands of heart attacks and strokes could be avoided each year if cholesterol-lowering drugs were used according to guidelines.”
Why don’t medical professionals address the root causes of health issues that contribute to heart disease such as chronic stress, a sedentary lifestyle and an inflammatory diet just to name a few? I think it’s safe to say that none of those remedies or preventative measures serve to profit the financial payouts the medical industrial complex has grown accustomed to receiving.
They manipulate data. Sayer Ji outlines it in an excellent way in this article, showing questionable methodologies and statistics stretched to oblivion.
The pharmaceutical giants choose to ignore or gloss over the adverse effects of statins, which is one of the main reasons why patients are increasingly declining these drugs. In reality, over 300 documented adverse effects are associated with statin use. Patients who know that these drugs are associated with increased risk of diabetes, liver toxicity and cognitive impairment don’t take them. Unfortunately, though, many people are coerced by their doctors and mainstream media advertisements to take these drugs out of fear of what could happen should they decline.the drug in question.
Believe Me, They’re Aware
Don’t think Big Pharma isn’t aware of the side effects of statins? They certainly are, and this was actually their reason for developing a cholesterol-lowering vaccine in 2015. Yes, you read that right. Let’s have a vaccine because statins have too many side effects!
Ultimately, this vaccine never progressed beyond early clinical trials. There were safety concerns, but a more insidious reason exists. It was superceded by better, more insidious PCSK9 inhibitor biologic products, Repatha and Praluent, both in injectable form, and both touted as a “more reliable route to address cholesterol issues for patients who don’t respond well to statins.”
Of course, Repatha (evolocumab) and Praluent (alirocumab) have been touted by Big Pharma and MSM to be “highly effective” at lowering LDL cholesterol and reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular problems. And then, as always, comes the kicker: “However, like all medications, they come with potential side effects and safety concerns.”
What are those side effects, exactly? Listed are the typical “injection site reaction”, the catch-all phrase. People who take these injections are much more susceptible to upper respiratory tract infections. And then comes the “rare” side effects – the neurocognitive issues – “some people have reported experiencing memory problems or confusion while on PCSK9 inhibitors.”
Really? You think?
To add insult to injury, Big Pharma adds this phrase: “The mechanism behind this is not fully understood, but it has been a point of concern. Though rare, these symptoms may require discontinuing the drug and consulting a doctor.”
WHAT?
Other “rare” side effects include elevated liver enzymes and muscle weakness. Who wouldn’t want to take this vaccine? (sarcasm noted) And Big Pharma is so adept at gauging these “new” vaccines, letting everyone know that they’re new so the “long term impact on cardiovascular health” is unknown and “needs to be further studied.” This is another phrase: “Both Repatha and Praluent work by stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies against PCSK9. Long-term immune modulation could have unforeseen consequences, although no major issues have been reported yet.”
Yet.
And here’s yet another phrase: “While PCSK9 inhibitors reduce LDL cholesterol effectively, there may be concerns about their effects on HDL (“good”) cholesterol and triglycerides over long periods of use. These effects are still under review in large clinical trials.”
Seriously.
Keep in mind these injections are recommended for people who cannot tolerate statins due to side effects.
Seriously.
We should all listen to Dr. Tenpenny – about everything really, including cholesterol. In her substack article, Cholesterol Is A Good Guy, she says:
“For at least 30 years, we’ve been conditioned to believe that cholesterol is the ‘bad guy’ in our body and horrible for our health. Almost every health article and book you read screams about lowering your cholesterol level, like it’s pure poison. Diets, drugs, and entire lifestyles are designed to lower or nearly eliminate cholesterol from our blood and our tissues. I actually remember hearing a cardiologist proclaim years ago that he hoped the latest/greatest statin would lower his cholesterol levels to nearly zero. What an idiot. Did he learn nothing in medical school about the necessity of cholesterol for a healthy body?”
