A big part of your energy comes from a tiny part of your body –the mitochondria. Most of the cells in the body contain thousands of mitochondria, known as the powerhouse of the cell. These little gems create energy through a series of complex chemical reactions. Perhaps you remember studying the Krebs cycle in school? That’s one of those processes.
Think of the mitochondria as little energy factories, so as you might imagine, your energy level is directly correlated with your mitochondria function. For optimum function, you need hydration, sufficient electrolytes, great sleep and great nutrition with the proper nutrients. All of these good health practices help keep your powerhouses in tip-top condition. If the mitochondria are not humming like a well-oiled engine, your energy can be drained and make you feel like you are plodding through your day.
Mitochondria are certainly powerhouses, yet are still vulnerable. Mitochondria can become damaged, and there are often hidden issues that can cause that damage. . Learn more about the five main factors that cause this damage in Friday’s newsletter. I’ll explain why proper nutrition, and detoxing, are so very important.
