About my guest:
Det. James Warner Wallace is an American homicide detective and Christian apologist. Born in Torrance, California, he graduated from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Explorer Academy in 1978. He then pursued a bachelor’s degree in design and a master’s degree in architecture from UCLA.
In 1988, Wallace returned to law enforcement, serving several assignments, including Gang Detail, SWAT, and The Special Investigations Division. He became one of the founding members of the Torrance Police Department’s Cold-Case Homicide Unit. In 2015, his department won an award for the best-solved cold case. His cases have been featured on Dateline and North Mission Road (truTV).
In 1996, at the age of 35, Wallace became a Christian after investigating the gospels using his detective expertise. He enrolled in the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, obtaining a master’s degree in theological studies and eventually becoming the lead pastor for an organization called the Rising Tide. Wallace continued to apply the principles of cold-case homicide investigation to Christianity and has written six books addressing the evidence for Christianity. He has appeared on many mainstream television networks and radio broadcasts, including The 700 Club, The Laura Ingraham Show, The Eric Metaxas Show, and more.
In his most recent book, The Truth in True Crime: What Investigating Death Teaches Us About the Meaning of Life, Wallace provides 15 rules for life learned from death investigations.
