Glyphosate is one of the most widely used herbicides in the United States. Glyphosate was first registered for use in the U.S. in 1974 and its use has increased exponentially year after year. Now that we have GMO and engineered crops, glyphosate and other pesticides are used even more.
Yes, glyphosate has health impacts. Our partners at Touchstone Essentials have done a deep dive on this research, showing that glyphosate creates massive inflammation which can lead to cancer and other diseases:
Glyphosate can negatively affect the microbiome in the gut, which can impact the immune system
Cellular membranes can be disrupted by glyphosate
Glyphosate is associated with rising rates of gluten intolerance
Animal studies on mice correlated glyphosate exposure to anxiety and depressive-like behaviors
Glyphosate can cause neuroinflammation and oxidative stress in the central nervous system
Their research is available here, and here is even more research from the US Right to Know team. I have written about glyphosate and lectins, as well as glyphosate and how it relates to the gut-brain connection. In fact, we’ve been writing about glyphosate for years in The Tenpenny Report. Read those articles here.
The reason we write about it so much is that it is a hidden ingredient in our food. It’s not listed on the labels at the grocery store, but the tasteless, colorless toxin is hiding in countless foods that we eat every day. Before you know it, you’re serving up toxins for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Glyphosate is used extensively by farmers, mainly as a weedkiller but also to dry out crops like corn, wheat and oats in order to harvest them earlier. As such, glyphosate residue ends up directly in our food.
We recently had a comment from one of our social media audience members who said he stopped using glyphosate on his farm eight years ago. He also stopped vaccinating, and he says his cow health has improved 200% with hardly any cattle deaths and almost no use of antibiotics needed.
We also recently published a guest article by Joel Salatin who said much the same thing. Read it here; it’s great! along with vaccines and our cow health has improved 200%.
Unfortunately there are some foods that are more likely to contain the pesticide than others.
(1) Oat breakfast cereals. Glyphosate has been found in nearly all samples tested by third party groups, and levels are often above the safety level of exposure for children.
(2) Wheat breads and pasta. In 2017, nearly 10 million pounds of glyphosate was applied to varieties of wheat grown in the US (source).
(3) Snacks made with corn or soy. Glyphosate has long been primarily used on corn and soybean crops, so much so that certain GMO crops are engineered to resist glyphosate. Foods like chips, cookies and crackers most likely contain corn or soy as a food additive.
(4) Almonds and nut butters. Glyphosate is often used as a weedkiller in almond orchards. Over 80% of non-organic California almond orchards are treated with glyphosate.
(5) Berries: Strawberry, blueberry and other berry crops are often sprayed with glyphosate which stays on the berries.
You can reduce your exposure to this toxic chemical. First, buy organic. The organic farming methods ban the use of glyphosate so your food has fewer toxins. You can also buy products with “glyphosate residue free” labels since these foods have been tested for glyphosate.
Regular detoxing also helps. Natural zeolite binds to pesticides, as does fulvic acid, which can bind to glyphosate in the GI tract, helping the body to eliminate it.
Meet Jamie Walden, of Omega Dynamics. Imbued with matchless passion for all things “adventurous” and “fun”, Jamie’s teen years were filled with significant tumult (injuries, arrests, and choices of near life-long consequence). However, amid the rebellion and ruckus, Jamie continually endeavored to one day earn the title, “U.S. Marine”. After being nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Defense, Intelligence, and Diplomacy in Washington, D.C., where he subsequently secured a nomination to the US Naval Academy, Jamie made the determination to simply enlist in the Marine Corps Infantry and achieve his childhood dream.
After leaving the Marines Corps, Jamie obtained a double major B.S. in Law Enforcement and History. Pursuing a career in Federal Law Enforcement, Jamie was selected as an Intern for the United States Marshals Service, and subsequent recruitment to a “Three Letter” agency. It was then, when Jamie received “the call”, that the Lord began testing and affirming the genuineness of his faith.
After again returning to Iraq in 2014 to serve the Christians suffering under the savage campaign of ISIS, Jamie and his wife Virginia were compelled to surrender their paradigm and follow the Lord into full-time ministry.
“The Mission of Omega Dynamics is this: to teach, train and equip “Those with ears to hear” to stand anew in their rightful place as more than conquerors in a kingdom that cannot be shaken…this generation is literally, eternally dying for us to”
