Four Ways To Sharpen Your Brain Focus

Do you feel sluggish or have brain fog? Is it harder to remember names? These are changes that happen as we age, but you can be sharper. There are definitely things you can do to keep your brain sharp and fight brain fog and memory loss. Some of these might surprise you.

Stay mentally active and socially involved.
Your brain is like a muscle — if you don’t use it, you lose it. Stay mentally active by reading, playing games, listening to music or doing crossword puzzles. Challenge yourself — stretch to do something new, different and a little more complex. Try not to watch too much television. It is a passive activity and does very little to stimulate your brain. Social interaction is fun and helps you fight stress and depression. Look for ways to engage with family and friends, especially if you live alone. Research shows that too much alone time can contribute to brain atrophy. Be social to keep that brain strong.

Exercise regularly.
Exercise and physical activity has many benefits, and it definitely benefits the brain. Exercise increases blood flow to the brain and stimulates brain connections. People who get regular exercise are much less likely to experience mental decline. You don’t have to be a super athlete or do anything particularly rigorous. Walk, swim, or play pickleball – just get out there!

Get plenty of sleep.
Sleep is vitally important for brain health. Scientists reckon that sleep may clear away abnormal brain proteins, and it also helps to consolidate memories and provide an overall brain health boost. Ideally, try to get seven or eight uninterrupted hours of sleep per night. Consecutive sleep gives the brain time to effectively store your memories.

Eat a healthy diet
Diet is key for brain health.Limit red meat and salt. Try to increase your intake of plant-based foods, healthy fats, fish and whole grains.  Omega fatty acids found in fish, olive oil and other healthy fats help all cells, including brain cells, function. The omegas also contribute to mental focus and they slow cognitive decline in older adults.

A great brain support supplement is also a good idea. My Opti NeuroFit formula contains enzymes that detoxify the brain and boost neurotransmitter activity of both dopamine and serotonin. NeuroFit definitely helps support an overall positive mental outlook. My supplement can increase DHA in the brain, which helps cognition. DHA is docosahexaenoic acid and it is essential for the maintenance of normal brain function.

08-09-21 Deep Dive PREMIUM – with Jamie Walden

Meet Jamie Walden, of Omega Dynamics. Imbued with matchless passion for all things “adventurous” and “fun”, Jamie’s teen years were filled with significant tumult (injuries, arrests, and choices of near life-long consequence). However, amid the rebellion and ruckus, Jamie continually endeavored to one day earn the title, “U.S. Marine”. After being nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Defense, Intelligence, and Diplomacy in Washington, D.C., where he subsequently secured a nomination to the US Naval Academy, Jamie made the determination to simply enlist in the Marine Corps Infantry and achieve his childhood dream.

After leaving the Marines Corps, Jamie obtained a double major B.S. in Law Enforcement and History. Pursuing a career in Federal Law Enforcement, Jamie was selected as an Intern for the United States Marshals Service, and subsequent recruitment to a “Three Letter” agency. It was then, when Jamie received “the call”, that the Lord began testing and affirming the genuineness of his faith.

After again returning to Iraq in 2014 to serve the Christians suffering under the savage campaign of ISIS, Jamie and his wife Virginia were compelled to surrender their paradigm and follow the Lord into full-time ministry.

“The Mission of Omega Dynamics is this: to teach, train and equip “Those with ears to hear” to stand anew in their rightful place as more than conquerors in a kingdom that cannot be shaken…this generation is literally, eternally dying for us to”
